Workshop Structure
We recommend that Global Guides follow this general outline when planning their workshops:
1. Introductory Activity A short and fun activity to get youth interested and excited about learning more about you and your country. 2. Stories about your Culture and Country This is the portion where you tell stories about your personal experiences and perspective and connect them to life in your country. Remember to ask questions so students can make connections to their own lives! In order to prepare for this section, you may want to use the Culture Brainstorm Map or "I am From" Poem Worksheet. 3. Stories about the Theme This is where you tell personal stories about the Global Classroom theme. Focus on stories you care about and are meaningful to you. For example, if your topic is global citizenship, you might speak about why voting is important to you, issues with voting in your country, your first experience voting. Then you can ask students about their thoughts about voting in the USA. 4. Thematic Activity This is where you lead a fun, interactive activity for the students based on the Global Classroom theme.
